Starting this off with a picture of a kitten sleeping in a bowl, because who doesn’t love kittens sleeping in bowls.
WHO AM I…
Im just a chick operating a personal website at www.bigfoot-creative.com, but due to the bozos in congress I have to put this shit out here for your own safety. I am not a scammer, nor am I out to get your info/data and sell it on the website. I’m simply a creative person who likes to make cool shit.
HERE’S WHAT DATA IS COLLECTED & WHY…
If you leave a comment on the site, my spam detection filter collects the data shown in the comments form, your IP address and browser. I don’t do shit with this, and I don’t use it for anything aside from making sure those stupid internet bots don’t try to sell sex pills through posted links or kick backs.
I haven’t provided any opportunity for you to upload images to this site. If you ARE prompted to upload some shit, RUN AWAY. I would prefer you send me an email via the contact form and let me know I’ve probably been hacked, but I understand if you avoid me like the plague. If you do find some ass-backwards way to upload images to this website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. I won’t do shit with the things you upload, but basically there are very bad people on the internet who search for these types of files, and can download & extract any location data from said files. Again, I do not have any ability built into this site for you to upload images. If prompted, use your head and don’t do it.
If you comment, or send me a message via the contact form, you MIGHT be prompted by your browser to opt-in and save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are not delicious cookies that you can eat, or things that come back to me in any shape or form. They are merely small files which are stored on your computer that have a bit of data about my website. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. Let’s be honest, we’re all lazy bums who hate to type our full email address out every time we visit a site we’ve commented or submitted a message on before. These cookies will only last for a year.
EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES…
So I don’t control what they use, or have any knowledge of their tracking. I don’t plan to intentionally embed bad things from bad websites…I also don’t embed a ton of crap, so this is a rare occurrence. That being said, IF I embed something, the silver lining is I visited the site to pull the content, which means they’re tracking me too. We’ll be in this together! If it goes south, maybe we can start a support group.
WHO I SHARE YOUR DATA WITH…
Since we’re being honest…I use a tool called Google Analytics that collects information on how people interact with my website. Google Analytics collects information on how often you visit, what pages you visit, and other sites you might have been on prior to coming here. The info they collect is the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit my site, but not your name or other identifying information. I only use the information Google Analytics shares with me to improve this site. So, I see what kind of content I make that people interact with most on my site, and try to do more of that shit. I don’t mix the data my website collects with any of the data I have access to via Google Analytics, nor would I know how. My brain doesn’t work that way, and I have no use for this kind of data. Google Analytics does put a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, BUT apparently that cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. That includes ME, so that’s cool, cause I don’t have to worry about even more legal mumbo jumbo. IF you want to live off the digital grid, you can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.
WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE TO YOUR DATA…
If you’ve ever left comments, submitted a message via the contact form, or even made a purchase you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data this site holds about you. I will totally comply with that request, but just know I have no idea how to do that, so I’m gonna need to use a lifeline and phone one of my techy friends to help me figure that out. I’m sure it’s as simple as three clicks and hitting a button, but in all fairness, I don’t expect to have to provide this to everyone. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. The same goes for this…I will totally comply, but I’ll probably need someone more grown up than I to help me with this task.
