BARN QUILTS

Barn quilts have been around for hundreds of years, and most that are still around from the earliest days have their own unique history. Quilt blocks began being painted onto squares of wood and adorned on barns once paint was readily available and affordable. People chose certain blocks to reflect particular meanings. In the early 2000s, there was a resurgence of barn quilts, and most likely the ones you see today.

If there is a barn quilt trail near you, I highly recommend taking a day to road trip and document. The history of certain patterns is inspirational, and I dare you to come away without feeling inspired…
